First and last name | Sara Rayment |
What's your location? | Newcastle |
At what organization are you currently based? | Inkling Legal Design |
Why do you define yourself as a Legal Designer? | Having worked as a lawyer for over 10 years in top tier firms, Sara blends legal expertise with human centred design to deliver innovative solutions. Her clients include government agencies, regulators, law firms and corporate counsel. She has served twice as delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law to advise on the design of an online cross-border dispute process to provide access to justice for consumers. I left traditional law practice 18 months ago to launch Inkling, a legal design consultancy where I: – assist clients with visual law projects – assist clients with human centered digital projects from AI to service design. |

Tell us a little about the work you just shared, so we understand how to present it to the community. | This is our validation tool for innovation projects. It might not look like much but this is the key tool in our kit. It’s helps our teams focus on what their prototyping has proven and what assumptions need de-risking. In practice, this tool has spared clients pain (eg. investment in a proposal of $2.1 million) and helped them develop ideas rigourously. |
