Why do you define yourself as a Legal Designer? | I am a Professor at the Design Department at Paraíba State University, in Brazil, and I also have a degree in Law. Professor Cláudio Lucena, from Paraíba State University, has introduced me to the legal design movement, and it soon became pretty evident that the legal environment can benefit enormously from the tools, resources and way of thinking, developing ideas and managing projects with which we are more familiar in the design realm. I have recently started to work together with him in workshops in companies and law firms, we are preparing a joint course that involves both our universities and departments, we are participating in debates and developing content and practical tools to help lawyers and other players in the legal field rethink documents, communication, solutions, policies, practices, processes and ultimately Law itself. |
Show off your work! Present yourself through one of your projects | I can’t upload a file. Do you only take links? |
Tell us a little about the work you just shared, so we understand how to present it to the community. | This presentation introduces the several issues we identify as problematic in the legal environment, how we may improve solutions, and maps a number of positive initiatives that use legal design techniques, approaches and principles. |
