Why do you define yourself as a Legal Designer?

My main aim in the work I do is to make the law usable and actionable. I want to write and create amazing looking contracts that are readable and usable by everyone who picks them up, not just by the lawyers negotiating them at the start of a relationship – and let’s face it, sometimes even the lawyers don’t know what they are writing!

I am looking to take a more structured approach to the way I design legal information. Previously I have relied more on gut feel, trying to learn from design I like and rework to fix pain points of lawyers and users.
